DOWNSVILLE — For what is being called “ground zero disaster re -
lief,” for those in New York City affected by the Sept. 11 disaster, the
city’s Department of Environmental Protection police (DEPP) have set
up a collection station at their Downsville precinct office.
DEPP personnel will be available between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily to re
ceive the items.
A list of items requested, as being needed most, is: Work gloves, T-
shirts, sweat shirts, clean twels, bottled water, Gatorade and Power
Bars.
“Please give only what’s on the list,” states a department release.
According to DEPP Captain Mark Benedetto, the items will be load
ed onto DEP trucks at the Downsville office and hauled from there to
the city.
