Maldonado, Jane To: [email protected] Cc: Sturcken, Charles; Chapin, Diana Subject: FEMA Funding/Cleanup Issues From Michael Gilsenan
Please find enclosed a revised copy of our estimated cost sheet for the cleanup of roofs/facades and setbacks. In our original submission to Sam Benson, the estimated cost sheet had a column deleted as it was transferred from one file to another for transmission to your agency.
Also for your information, in our previous discussion with FEMA it was brought to our attention that certain buildings, including their facades, in the downtown area have landmark status. In these cases, FEMA indicated to DEP that the cleanup of those facades would require additional monies due to the special procedure associated with landmark cleanup. FEMA is in possession of DEP’s facade list and was in the process of identifying such buildings so that they could incorporate the additional cost, if any are on their worksheets.
Lastly, OSHA would like to meet with DEP and DOB to go over issues regarding scaffolding requirements in NYC for the cleanup of facades. Could OEM coordinate such a meeting? As DEP anticipates having a pre-bidder conference on Tuesday, April 2, for contractors interested in bidding on the cleanup, Monday, April 1, would be perfect to have such a meeting.
If you have any questions, please give me a call at 718-595-4543.
