BetUehein Steel looked to Brandenburg to provide a complete closure
plan for Ae i6o-acre Coke plant including demolition, asbestos
abatement, and environmental remediation which once completed
induded;
1500 tons of high level benzene oil and sludge,
6000 tons of hazardous and special wastes,

390 tons of friable asbestos, and
JOO,000 gallons of benzene contaminated water.
Friable asbestos was surveyed, identified, and abated wiAout incident.

perform near-total deinoliiion of Ae stadium’s existing interior.
Almost itninediately after Ae Chicago Bears completed Aeir zoot
season. Brandenburg worked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The
workforce consisted of two crews of 50 to 60 workers on two 11-hour

shifts. These two Aift-s were able to load up to 550 truckloads per 24- Wl
hour period. Brandenburg completed 95 percent of Ae demolition
contract of Ae stadiums interior structure and removed an additional
t 80,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil in just jo days, which was
two weeks Aead of an already aggressive projea .sAedule.
