Test 1 A. Cleaning using residential quality upright vacuums and shop vacuums that are available from Hoover, Eureka, Ridgid and Crafstman, as well as wet wiping. B. Cleaning conducted with vacuums used in A, but with the addition of an AFD as well as wet wiping. Test 2 fA.BI A. Cleaning conducted in up to two units using HEPA-filtered upright vacuums and HEPA- filtered shop vacuums available fi-om Hoover, Eureka, Ridgid, and Craftsman, as well as wet wiping. B. Cleaning conducted using the same vacuums in Test A, but with an AFD as well as wet wiping. Test 3 (AB) A. Cleaning conducted in up to two units using commercial quality HEPA-filtered vacuums manufactured by Nilfisk Advance Vacuum systems, as well as wet wiping. B. Cleaning conducted in up to two units using the same vacuums as Test A, but with an AFD and wet wiping. Test 4 (AB.C.D.E) A. Cleaning conducted in commercial units and common areas using commercial quality HEPA filtered vacuums manufactured by Nilfisk. Debris that could not be vacuumed was manually removed and disposed. An AFD was used. B. (Wet Wiping) Additional cleaning of wall surface areas was conducted to remove any residues that may not have bear removed by vacuuming. Wiping of the walls with a damp soapy efotb was perfortned to remove residual dust that may have adhered to the walls trom tte force of tbe ocUapsc. Wet Wiping of walls was performed in Commercial Unit: Clurcpractor OCce, Ccirancrcial Unit: Retail Mattress Store Unit 3C and Unit 3B. C. (Wet Vacuum) Wail to wall carpeting was present in Commercial Unit: Chiropractor Office, and C522535crcial Unit: Retail Mattress Store. Carpeting the in the Commercial Unit was wet vacuumed using hot water. Commercial Unit: was wet .vacuiuned using hot water and carpet shampoo. D. (HVAC cleaning) HVAC systems are located in Unit: Chiropractor's Office, Unit: Retail Mattress Store, Unit 4: Lemongrass Grill and Unit 5: The Food Exchange. These systems were cleaned by professional duct cleaning companies using standard cleaning procedures. E. (Wet Wiping) Use of water only for wet wipe of horizontal and vertical surfaces. Cleaning using this procedure was applied to Commercial Unit: Chiropractor Office (bathroom tile floor and desk top). Commercial Unit: Retail Mattress Store (vinyl tile floor and window ledge), Commercial Unit: The Barber Shop (vertical and horizontal surfaces).

Scope A - Lower Manhattan Cleaning Procedure This method mirrored the procedure that EPA and the City of New York are implementing as part of the Indoor Air Residential Assistance - WTC Dust Cleanup Program. A description of Scope A is presented in Attachment 8.
