8.3.3 The dimensions are 18.5" x 19.5" x 16.5". 8.3.4 The instrument is comprised of an electric motor driven worm gear unit with twin output shafts coupled to flexible crank mechanisms, which in turn operate two reciprocating paddles. 8.3.5 The fibers are put into a model 3500 plastic bag against which the paddles act to create a blending stomacher action. A key feature to this stomacher unit, is that the working parts do not come into direct contact with the sample being processed (There is a thick rubber pad in between the paddles and the sample.). 8.3.6 There are no calibration procedures for this instrument. 8.4 Fisher Scientific Refrigerator/Flammable Storage IsoTemp Model 426R-2 8.4.1 The Fisher Scientific Refrigerator has an adjustable thermostat so that it can be maintained at a temperature between 2 - 6°C. 8.4.2 The dimensions are 30.5" x 36" x 84". 8.4.3 A temperature of this instrument is recorded daily in a log book, for quality control measures. 8.4.4 For any trouble-shooting problems refer to the warranty folder in the file cabinet.

8.5 Sears Co. Household Refrigerator/freezer 8.5.1 The refrigerator freezer is a standard household unit that is used for storing preserved samples and slides. 8.5.2 The dimensions are 28" x 26' x 63.75". 8.5.3 The temperature of the refrigerator is set-up between 2 - 6° C. 8.5.4 The freezer portion temperature range is set between -25 and -10° C. 8.5.5 The temperature of this instrument is recorded daily in a logbook for quality control measures. 8.5.6 For any trouble-shooting problems refer to the warranty folder in the file cabinet.

8.6 Hoefer Manifold FH225V Ten Place Filter Holder 25mm 8.6.1 These 2 manifold units are designed for the rapid filtration of multiple water samples with the use of a vacuum. 8.6.2 The dimensions are 13" x 6" x 6.5". 8.6.3 The manifold contains ten precisely bored recesses with stainless steel grids to support the filters. To complete the vacuum seal, stainless steel center bored weights are placed over the filters. The water sample is placed onto the filters through the center of the weights. 8.6.4 A Quality Control Log is kept for the autoclaving of the stainless steel wells. 8.6.5 Preventative maintenance and documentation are as per the ICR and should be referred to for this information. 8.6.6 There are no calibration procedures for this instrument. 8.6.7 For any trouble-shooting problems refer to the warranty folder in the file cabinet. 8.6.8 This instrument is cleaned as per the directions within the ICR.
