temperature between 2 - 5"C until processed.
7.2 Tracking infonnation is put into the Sample Log Book where further calculations
will be done. The slides made from this sample and any preseiwed leftover pellet
will be stored using the same sample number for future reference.
8 Equipment
8.1 lEC Centrifuge PR 7000
8.1.1 The floor model centrifuge is considered a general purpose, refrigerated, digital,
and programmable centrifuge.
8.1.2 The dimensions are 28.5" x 33.25" x 43".
8.1.3 It has an interlocking latch system that prevents operation if the cover is not
completely closed and latched.
8.1.4 Maximum speed of rotation for a swinging bucket rotor is 6200 rpm.
8.1.5 Maximum volume is 6 liters (6 x 1000 ml).
8.1.6 The temperature range is from (-9 to +39 degrees C).
8.1.7 The centrifuge was calibrated upon delivery (see calibration log) and will be re
calibrated annually and if moved.
8.1.8 Its corresponding nomograph is located on the wall behind the centrifuge.
8.1.9 After each day of usage, the buckets, rotor, and inside are wiped down with a mild
detergent (ie. ivory liquid soap).
8.2 lEC GP8R Centrifuge
8.2.1 This tabletop model is considered to be a general purpose, refrigerated, digital,
programmable centrifuge.
8.2.2 The dimensions are 30" x 25" x 17.25".
8.2.3 It has an interlocking latch system that prevents operation if the cover is not
completely closed and latched.
8.2.4 Maximum speed of rotation for a swinging bucket rotor is 4600 rpm.
8.2.5 Maximum volume is 1000ml (4x250ml).
8.2.6 The temperature range is from (2 to 35°C).
8.2.7 The centrifuge was calibrated at delivery (see calibration log) and will be re
calibrated if moved.
8.2.8 Its corresponding nomograph is located on the cabinet underneath the centrifuge.
8.2.9 After each day of usage, the buckets, rotor, and inside are wiped down with a mild
detergent (ie. ivory liquid soap).
8.3 Stomacher Lab Blender Model 3500 (BA 7022)
8.3.1 Stomacher lab blenders are front loading instruments used for homogenizing the
filters from a filtered water sample.
